1.Working Principle:
The electromagnetic flow sensor is a liquid flow meter that uses Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction to measure the flow of conductive fluids. The principle of operation relies on the generation of a voltage when a conductive liquid flows through a magnetic field.
The sensor consists of three electrodes (positive, negative, ground) placed perpendicular to the flow direction and a magnetic coil surrounding the flow channel. When a conductive liquid flows through a magnetic field, an electric potential is created across the electrodes. This potential is proportional to the velocity of the liquid flow and is used to calculate flow.
It has various advantages. It measures the flow of conductive fluids such as slurries, acids and alkaline solutions. It is also unaffected by changes in fluid density, viscosity or temperature. Plus, it has no moving parts, making it highly reliable and low maintenance. It is an important tool for measuring the flow of conductive liquids. Its rugged construction and reliable performance make it suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
2.Application range and precautions:
Electromagnetic flowmeters are widely used in sewage, fluorine chemical industry, production water, tap water industry, medicine, steel and many other aspects. Because the principle determines that it can only measure conductive liquids.
※ The measurement range ratio is 30:1, which is higher than that of vortex flowmeters and differential pressure flowmeters.
※ There are also requirements for straight pipes before and after installation, but the requirements are lower than other types of flowmeters, but it must be met: the liquid needs to be full,
※ Protection level. Generally, the protection level of the integrated type is IP65, and the split type is: IP65, IP67, IP68 (for sensors). If there are requirements for the instrument installation environment, the installation location is in an underground well or other damp places. In other places, it is recommended to choose a split type, and the protection level is IP68.
※ It can measure strong corrosive liquids, but it needs to configure the lining and electrodes correctly.
※ The reliability and stability are relatively good, but due to its principle, the electrode surface of the sensor is always in contact with the liquid, and the electrode surface is relatively easy to be polluted. If the dirt on the electrode surface can be cleaned regularly, the Electromagnetic flow sensor can guarantee high-precision and stable work for a long time.
