1.working principle:

The magnetic flow transmitter is a flow meter that uses the electromagnetic principle to measure the flow of liquid fluid. The equipment involves no moving parts and is therefore very reliable and requires minimal maintenance. It can measure the flow of conductive liquids, including waste water, sewage, pulp, mud and dirty liquids, etc.

 

When a conductive liquid flows through the magnetic field generated by the emitter, an electric current is generated. According to Faraday’s principle, the induced voltage is proportional to the flow rate of the liquid. The transmitter converts this voltage into a 4-20mA output signal, which can be used to display and control the flow of liquid.

2.Applications:

3. Classification:

※ Insertion type flow transmitter, which consists of a magnetic sensor inserted into the fluid. This type of transmitter is very suitable for use in large pipelines or open channels, with low cost of use, simple installation and high accuracy.

 

※ Integrated online flow transmitter, which is directly installed in the flow pipeline. This type of transmitter is best suited for applications with low flow rates or where the fluid is abrasive or corrosive. In-line flow transmitters are also typically more compact than insertion-type flow transmitters, making them easier to install and maintain.

※ Separate online flow transmitter, the sensor is installed in the pipeline, the converter and the sensor are separated (the standard configuration is 10*2 cable, but the cable length can be customized). This type is more suitable for installation in deep wells or sites with relatively high pipeline positions, especially in deep wells, and can be made with IP68 protection level, so that if there is water in the deep well, it will not affect the normal operation of the instrument.

6.Lining Options:

 

The selection of the lining of the electromagnetic flowmeter is very important: according to the characteristics of the measured liquid, such as the temperature of the medium, corrosiveness (PH value), the liquid contains impurities, etc., to select the most suitable lining material is to ensure that the flowmeter The working life is the key to measurement accuracy.
Available lining materials are as follows:

Neoprene Lining*Oil resistance, solvent resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance to general acid, alkali, salt and other media, not corrosion resistance to oxidizing media.
* Has excellent elasticity and wear resistance. But cold resistance is poor.
*Scope of application: 1.0°C-80°C non-strong acid, strong alkali, strong oxidizing medium. Can measure less abrasive sewage, mud and slurry.
polyurethane rubber* Has excellent wear resistance and elasticity. However, its acid and alkali resistance is poor, so it cannot be used in water mixed with organic solvents.
*Scope of application: -2.5 degrees -60 degrees, suitable for neutral and strong abrasive pulp, coal slurry, mud, paper pulp, domestic sewage, waste water.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)*PTFE is the material with the most stable chemical properties among plastics; it is resistant to boiling hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, aqua regia, concentrated alkali and various organic solvents, but it is not resistant to chlorine trifluoride, high temperature oxygen fluoride, large flow liquid fluorine, liquid Corrosion by oxygen and ozone.

C. Scope of application: -25 degrees -140 degrees, strong corrosive substances such as concentrated acid and alkali, drinking water, milk, beer, beverages and other sanitary media.
Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (F46)* Hydrophobic and non-stick.

*When the negative pressure resistance requirement is high, a metal mesh can be installed to improve the negative pressure resistance capacity.
* Poor abrasion resistance.
*Scope of application: -25°C-100°C non-strong abrasive media, sanitary media.

With good corrosion resistance performance to all concentrations of hydrochloric acid below the boiling point; also resist sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, hydrofluoric acid, organic acid and other non-oxidizing acid, alkali and hydrochloric acid etc.

 

HC

Resist non-oxidizing acid, such as the mixture of nitric acid/chromic acid and sulfuric acid; and resist oxidizing salt, such as Fe3+, Cu2+ and other oxidizing agents like hypochlorite solution and sea water etc.

Titanium

Resist sea water, kinds of chlorides, hypochlorite, oxidizing acid(including nitrosonitric acid), organic acid, alkali etc, but not resist purified reductic acid(sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid); Corrosion will reduce greatly when it has only oxidizing agent(like nitric acid and ionic mediums with Fe, Cu) in the acid.

Tantalum

Good corrosion resistant property, similar with glass; it could almost resist all chemical mediums(including boiling hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and sulfuric acid below 175C), but not hydrofluoric acid, strong sulfuric acid and alkali.

Platinum-iridium alloy

 

Used for all chemical substances, resistant to corrosion (such as acid, alkali, various salts), but not resistant to aqua regia.
