Detection principle:

According to the principle of signal detection, digital flow meter can be divided into propagation speed difference method (direct time difference method, time difference method, phase difference method and frequency difference method), beam offset method, Doppler method, cross-correlation method, spatial filtering method and noise method etc.

Ultrasonic flowmeters are the same as electromagnetic flowmeters. Because the instrument flow channel is not equipped with any obstructions, they are all unobstructed flowmeters. They are a type of flowmeter suitable for solving difficult flow measurement problems, especially in large-diameter flow measurement. It is one of the rapidly developing types of flowmeters.

Features and functions of digital flow meter:

1. Easy to install

Clamp-on installation eliminates the need for pipe cutting. This is very different from traditional flow devices. The user simply clips the flow sensor to the pipe surface. Then the ultrasonic flowmeter can detect the flow through ultrasonic waves, and then automatically calculate the flow rate value, flow accumulator, etc.

No need to cut pipes (do not damage pipes during installation). As long as the piping is in good condition, there is no possibility of leaks in the piping where the flowmeter is installed. This advantage is more suitable for strong acid, strong alkali, poisoning, corrosive liquid, etc.

 Ultrasonic flow meters have no moving parts and do not require contact with the fluid, so there is no pressure loss. No pressure loss means you don’t need to do pressure compensation, which saves the cost of pressure transmitters.

2. Wide turndown ratio

Turndown ratio is a very important technical index in flow measurement. It is used to refer to flow range, usually determined by flow technology and principle.

The range ratio of ultrasonic flowmeter is 100:1, and some models can reach 500:1.

3. Low flow start

Low flow measurement has been a challenge for as long as flow measurement has been available. For small size pipes, one can develop special flow devices for testing. However, due to its particularity, its price is always high, and it is not easy to be extended to general application.

Ultrasonic flow meters provide advanced and precise energy measurements and are widely used for water energy monitoring in heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) management. The flow sensor is combined with the energy sensor to form an energy meter without damaging the pipeline. High precision and stable performance help reduce energy costs.

8. Low cost of use

The total price of the flowmeter is low, the service life is long, no maintenance fee is required, and the transportation cost is low, so its total use cost is low, and the long-term use accuracy is high.

Function of digital flow meter:

The positive and negative values of the flow can be measured and recorded on the data, and the flowmeter will save the positive and negative cumulative quantities to ensure the accuracy of the net cumulative quantity of the measured flow.

In terms of communication, you can choose a variety of communication protocols, such as 4-20mA, pulse, relay, RS485, Modbus, M-bus, Hart, batch controller, etc., and transmit data to PC or cloud through the protocol to realize the Internet of Things and different communications. The protocol is applicable to various environmental conditions.

The detection pipeline data can be exported in the maintenance inspection. The data includes the measurement time, flow rate, flow rate, and positive and negative net accumulation. The minimum export interval can be set to 1 second, which is suitable for pipeline inspection work.

In terms of installation options, you can choose external clamp type, pipe segment type and plug-in type. Different installation methods are required for different working conditions, and the overall consistency can be maintained.
